Our Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office K-9s and their Handlers.

CPL Snyder
k-9 Katie
CPL Snyder has been a K-9 handler since 2012 and has worked at the Sheriff’s Office since 2006. CPL Snyder served in the U.S. Army prior to starting his career at Sheriff’s Office. CPL Snyder worked K-9 Judge until he was medically retired. Snyder was then provided a new bloodhound, Katie, from “Find them and Friends” in 2018. K-9 Katie graduated from the Department of Corrections K-9 school and has also completed tracking schools through the FBI, VPCA, Fairfax PD, VA bloodhound search and rescue, and VA State Police. CPL Snyder and K-9 Katie are currently assigned to the patrol division.

MDS Rodgers
k-9 Morgan
MDS Rodgers has been a K-9 Handler since 2022 and has worked at the Sheriff’s Office since 2018. MDS Rodgers has been a lifelong resident of Fauquier County and is a graduate of East Carolina University. MDS Rodgers is assigned K-9 Morgan who is a 2-year-old bloodhound who was born in Kentucky. K-9 Morgan’s birthday is on April Fool’s Day and his brother is currently assigned to Warren County Sheriff’s Office. MDS Rodgers and K-9 Morgan are currently assigned to the patrol division.

MDS Harner
k-9 Ladee
MDS Harner has been a K-9 handler since 2006 and has worked at the Sheriff’s Office since 2002. MDS Harner worked 2 patrol/narcotics dogs prior to his current dog, while in the patrol division from 2002-2019. MDS Harner is currently assigned K-9 Ladee, who is a German Short Hair Pointer, certified in Explosives Detection. MDS Harner and K-9 Ladee conduct multiple searches of all county buildings throughout the day, during their shift. K-9 Ladee is also utilized by other agencies that require an explosives detection K-9. MDS Harner and K-9 Ladee are currently assigned to the court security/civil process division.

CPL Arrington
k-9 Remi
CPL Arrington has been a K-9 Handler since 2012 and has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 2008. CPL Arrington has worked 2 previous patrol/narcotics K-9s prior to his current dog, K9 Remi. K-9 Remi is a Dutch Shepard, certified in patrol/narcotics. CPL Arrington is a second-generation K-9 Handler and comes from a family of law enforcement. He was recently certified by the Virginia Police Canine Association as a Master Trainer and can now lead K-9 schools. K-9 Remi was selected from Shallow Creek Kennels and is already certified through VPCA as well as Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office’s in-house certification. CPL Arrington and K-9 Remi are currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

SGT House
k-9 Kygo
SGT House has been a K-9 Handler since 2019 and has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 2016. SGT House has worked one previous patrol/narcotics K-9 prior to his current dog, K-9 Kygo. K-9 Kygo is a Belgian Malinois, certified in patrol/narcotics. SGT House is a lifelong Fauquier County resident and a graduate of Radford University, with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. K-9 Kygo was selected from Shallow Creek Kennels and is already certified through VPCA as well as Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office’s in-house certification. SGT House and K-9 Kygo are currently assigned to the patrol division.
